thank you for putting so much effort into solving my low effort game :) I'll definitely keep making abstract puzzles like this where I myself may not know the solution.
raaaaaaaah! god damn red goblins!! if only i didnt accidentally skip a floor early on...
i didn't quite play for a full hour so I guess you failed... maybe with multiple deaths allowed it would have worked, where it saves your highest recorded hp for the next life and you get like 3 of them?
ys 1 darm tower wishes it had this many Devious Imps.
a wonderful one hour jam game. by the same for everyone, I'm guessing that means the randomizer is seeded? regardless, at first it took me a while to understand what the game was asking of me - I was carefully routing through the levels to optimize my pickups, and the game wasn't giving me much friction, and I began to wonder if the game was trying to be a sort of commentary on futility and gamey progression systems. then the difficulty started to set in, and I found it quite fun to route smartly around the maze and thoughtfully go after any enemies I might have advantageous exchanges with. there was a fun rogue-esque tension between getting as much as I could out of each floor and pressing forward with what I had. it also felt a bit like "pacman meets ys"(or perhaps dragon slayer?), especially at some of those higher floors, though I hope that won't feel reductive. thanks for the fun game! 🤍
also yes, the maze is seeded and each floor's seed is the floor number. Although it seems that no one has passed floor 32 yet. Some of those numbers seem very big!

The late-game nerf made the game playable.
Tips:
Categorise enemies into: One-shot, Fight, Run
One-shot: Enemy can be killed in one hit (Your ATK greater or equal to Enemy HP + Def). Enemy attack does not matter since they will not hit you back.
Fight: Enemy can be killed without much HP loss (Enemy ATK less than, equal, or only slightly higher than Your DEF). Keep Enemy HP into account.
Run: Enemy not worth killing (Enemy ATK much higher than Your DEF or Enemy DEF higher than Your ATK). You will see more as you climb higher.
Take it slow where you can.
Kill as many enemies as you feasibly can for points and stats.
Try to collect all stats on a level.
Run around and kite enemies to give yourself more time to do math.
Running to the next floor early is better than dying.
Good luck to all tower climbers!
Thanks for all the fun games Adrien.
Keep making them, I always enjoy playing them! :D

i made it to floor 40
Great climb! Perhaps I should bring in Pita for a similar experience.
Current highest floor to reach: 50 (although I was very sneaky this run and thus have not gotten a very high score X) )

it seems that many people die on that 32nd floor lol, I'll need to try it myself. The imps are the friends we've made along the way.
wow that floor 32 seems tough, I've got to see if someone beat it.

I am a big fan of Dragonslayer and the comparison is very good :) thanks for making it this far!

8128 was my best
the very first best score on this game :) even better than my own initial best score! (and that was before the late game speed nerf)
Current score to beat: 11725
