This is absolutely awesome. I've never played a game in this style before; no jumpscares. I love horror but the genre usually relies on jumpscares to actually make everything scary, which works but is such an overused tactic. The horror comes from the ambiance of the game and I really love that. The fact that it's a crime scene provides an already eerie feeling and the sounds effects and graphics just add onto it. The story is great too, constantly wondering what's next. If anyone has any other games that are like this, please reecommend them to me. I never find any horror games that don't rely on jumpscares and this was my first one. Loved it, great job Adrien. <3

heyya :) thanks a lot for the nice comment!

As for games that are like this, I can recommend its sequel: An idle Nightmare 2: Sabbath: https://adriendittrick.itch.io/an-idle-nightmare-2/

great game! I've never seen a horror clicker before

there's a second one on the list too :) https://adriendittrick.itch.io/an-idle-nightmare-2/

you should do a tutorial in the next game, but other than that i love your style of game making :]

tbh I think games are at their best when the player has to figure out everything X)

After getting both endings, I agree. It was fun to figure out everything.

maybe an optional tutorial

(+1)

tbh the tutorial is really just the flavor text :p the whole point of the game is for the player to figure out what the buttons do X)

Very cool, very interesting. I saw a comment below from you wondering if you could make more games like this. I say you could and should! Thanks for the fun time.

(+1)

the next game should be available tomorrow :)

It was a fun game except it was quite confusing for me because i finished the exploration of the corridors and the crime scene anddd the hiring but i couldn't get to the next part??

u gitta click all buttons and move a lot to check if u missed a button :o

(+1)

This was very cool, I just sometimes missed text when I was clicking very fast

it happens :p maybe in further games I'll add a specific location to click to advance the text

That would be much appreciated!

Great game, enjoyed

thanks for playing :) consider sending it to other people who would also enjoy it!

abandoned building, cultists, the void......wheres Cthulhu at?  :) great game

(+2)

Want to talk about horror? I thought the clue for the second ending was such a neat concept.

sure :) where do you want to talk about horror? :o

Discord is fine, I just joined your server, @Healshadow

i didn't realize what calling backup meant so I proceeded to search the entire corridor to 100% manually. oops

Ah dang, it happens X) congrats on completing the True Solo mode!

BRO SAME

idk about you, but not only did I explore the corridor manually, I couldn't figure out how to get trauma.

(+1)

If you get to 0% sanity in the corridor, you get +1 Trauma.

(+1)

I figured that out my second go around, I was just humble bragging about how I completed the investigation without FBI agents and w/o losing my sanity.

I had lots of fun playing this game! The endings and general gameplay mechanics are what I love the most!

That was an amazing video, thanks for playing :)

Horror and idle/clicking? color me surprised by how well this two things combine! This is an excellent game, I am surprised it's for a gamejam, I only got one ending on video but even if it takes a while is really fun to explore everything the game has to offer, clicking is a little time consuming as expected but it also feel rewarding, the game looks and sounds fantastic too and has quite a few interesting mechanics.

Keep up the good work!

thanks :) I really mainly make jam games because I work better in short bursts, this one was made in 2 days. Might make more of them!

not an idle game

(+2)

How would you define an idle game? :) perhaps "incremental" is better?

(+1)

A rather fun and interesting (and thankfully not *too* spooky) game that naturally ties into your unified lore :P

I would agree that things are a bit funky with waiting around for ending 2, but yeah, still very neat and fun!

(+1)

I might make more of those with similar lore :)

I did it!

(+1)

good job :o

(+2)

Really cool, man! Love the atmosphere and theme. The creepy SFX really sell the vibe. 10/10

thanks for playing :)

(+2)

very interesting combination of genres, i like the story told here. the only complaint i would have is that the idle part really does drag on one ending, but then again it does fit in a bit with what’s going on. very spooky overall

(+2)

I should add more ways to make the number big maybe, this way it doesn't FEEL like it's dragging on :)

(+1)

Very innovative and interesting cliker game. The ambiant is very cool and unique. Exploring and investigating is very well done. Good job !

thanks a lot for the nice comment :) maybe I'll make more!

(+1)

Nice very cool 10/10
Got both endings. Love the atmosphere

(+2)

yay, first comment :) glad you liked it! I wonder if this is a new genre I could make more games in?

(+3)

In my opinion, for sure.
